I crochet as a hobby. I google image things like "crochet patterns" to get ideas. I came across the most insane thing I've ever seen. An apple cozy. Just google that to see what I mean. There are also pear and banana cozies. These are crocheted or knitted pouches that fit perfectly around the fruit. I read the blog of someone who designs these, and they claimed that these prevent fruit related mishaps. I can't think of how these things can be seriously useful. It's driving me crazy. You can cut the strips as wide as you wish and sew them together with an overlocker. Best college major for becoming a police officer?

Forgive me if this is a long description. So i'm a senior this year and i have to apply for college in a few months, i know that i'll have time to switch my majors within the first year or two of college but i want to have a few plans. So far i'm deciding between Aerospace Engineer as a future career or a Police Officer. I'm not sure what the best prerequisites for becoming a police officer are. Is there any major that would help me finding a job for that career? Or does a college major not matter for police officers so long as I were to attend some type of police academy following my college years. I'm not really familiar with the requirements for law enforcement positions other than mandatory basic tests. So if anyone could help me out with these questions that would be great. I doubt if it matters but so far i'm considering going to OU (University of Oklahoma), OSU (Oklahoma State), and an offer from Texas A&M.

False copyright claims on Youtube?

Ok so i was making an abridged for the first pokemon movie, and i had a part one and i uploaded it and it got taken down from someone named Shopro saying that he owned the content. I thought "oh, but there are other people that have an abridged of this movie up" so i went and looked at their videos and it said in the description that they did not own anything in it so i thought "oh then i will just re upload it saying i dont own any of it" so i did and it just got taken down a few minutes ago. i said in the video that i only owned the abridged part and that the movie itself was owned by the pokemon owner person(s) and i said in the description that i didn't own any of it and that shopro couldnt take it down now because i said that. I have never read the abridged version - indeed, I didn't know that there was one out there. However, from the point of view of someone who has read this book 5+ times and really likes it, the work is so integrated that I can't imagine cutting anything out without seriously damaging the whole. In short, give yourself a treat and read the whole thing.

My only advise is don't kill the anime. Try just letting the jokes come naturally and original. If you guys have all seen the anime then you might have inside jokes about some characters/events or there are things from anime that can be play on lines to a joke. Im not trying to me rude. Honest. But I tried watching a Death Note abridge series and god it was horribly voiced and the jokes weren't even the slightest funny. On the other hand, there was a Naruto abridged series I saw and it was hilarious because they played off the fact that Sasuke was "emo" and Sakura was a bipolar violent chick. Knitting or Crocheting Scarfs? Which is Easier?

My 12 year old niece is spending the summer with me, and for whatever reason, she really wants to learn how to make a scarf and a throw blanket. But I have only now just realized that the book is an abridged version (translated by Charles E. Wilbour). It is about 640 pages, whereas the real book has about 1488 or so pages. It is understandable that copyright can protect people's descriptions of their idea whether on paper or anything else. But how does it specifically protect it? For example, someone learned grammar, vocabulary etc. and how to form neat sentences from books. The books have copyright, and eventually this person that learned from that book might somewhere use a very similar expression, forming of sentence or even word to word to another idea. Where does copyright lie here? Can't someone read a novel and memorise a lot of sentences and use them time to time because they eventually become "his" words? I'm almost twelve and I really want to start writing this sci-fi I've been planning on for months, but my problem is I know a lot of people who like it better in first person P.O.V rather than third person, because they find third person boring and they think the characters are unrelatable. I'm a little worried because if I try writing it in first person, there would be constant switching -- I have two protagonists, the other is a girl and the other is a boy, and they both have a story to tell. It's basically a world vs. world story; -- it's not as bad as it sounds, I just don't feel comfortable publicizing all my ideas -- the girl and the boy lives in a dystopian world, and they're struggling as battles erupt. I have almost all of it planned, some I'm still thinking about. There will be action, mystery -- stuff a sci-fi/ fantasy novel would have. Do you think the story would sound better in third person or not? I'm thinking it might bore the readers (hopefully I will have some) if I write it on third person, but I'm afraid that if I write it in first person (two POVS), the characters will turn out annoying. Should i continue to play on my sprained ankle?

I am 15 years old and well i sprained my ankle back on may 5 while playing basketball. At first it hurt so much that could not even walk on it and it was swelled up alot. I went to the doctor that night and they said that the ligaments were really stressed and it was a slight sprain. they doc sent me home with some pain meds and some pills for swelling and some crutches. I used the crutches and meds for about a week then stopped while still applying ice and elevation It was painless to walk after about two weeks but there was still some swelling. I began playing on it lightly two weeks after the sprain and it would hurt the next morning. So i decided to stay off it for about 3 weeks applying ice and elevation every so often. 5 weeks after the sprain i still play on it very lightly maybe just shooting around and playing halfcourt games. There is no pain and i can jump on it but no as high as i could before the sprain. It has been about 8 weeks since i sprained it but there is still some swelling. My only advise is don't kill the anime. Try just letting the jokes come naturally and original. If you guys have all seen the anime then you might have inside jokes about some characters/events or there are things from anime that can be play on lines to a joke. Im not trying to me rude. Honest. Why is my skin so strange.?

Thoughts about Scream 4. Possibly spoilers*?

OMG. Where to even start with this movie. I've always been obsessed with all the Screams. (not preferably 3) This one had its ups and downs in my opinion. To start off, half the scenes that were in the previews and trailers were not even in the movie. whats up with that? Also, I loved Kirby. I wanted her to stick around. Let me also say i was disappointed that Gale is not a journalist/writer/news person any more. It's like what has she been doing lately sitting home and knitting? One of my fav. parts of Scream was watching Dewey and Gales tension with each other and in scream 4 he just kept pushing her away.. :( They had such strong connections in the previous screams when they would help Sydney and work with each other as a team. I really missed there sexual tension the most! There married, it should have been so cute between them, and more tragic when Gale got stabbed. Also, Dewey had like no faith in her the entire time, when has that ever happened? ugh! One thing i do love and can give kudos to is the main actors, Dewey,Gale, and Syd. They are so passionate about scream they make it seem real. There acting is phenomenal together even with the 10 year separation. Im glad that Syd finally grew up and seemed to move on more, instead of the poor poor me act. I mean i knew she lost her mom and all this stuff that happened to her is hard but i loved seeing her as a strong mature women confident in herself. I did not seem right to me..having her cousin be the killer.. how fudged up can one family be..really. haha. I heard some thoughts from scream 4 saying that Gale should get killed off. Helll no! Gale is like, my favorite person on Scream. with her personality. She makes it awesome. Kill off Gale, and im out. plus, if syd does end up dying (major tragic ending) she better go down with some sick, crazy, twisted **** after all shes fought threw. I just expected more connection between my 2 personal favorite characters Dewey and Gale and better murders. Its been 10 years, i think they could have added more, made it bigger, went into it with a bang. I think i liked screams 1,2,3 because they were classic. They were the best. No one could compare to scream. It was original. Scream 4 was a mix between trying to keep there originality with a twist of present-ness but i dont think it worked as well as it was thought to be. I guess i just expected more. ON THE UP-SIDE. I did enjoy the movie, seeing them all together again, i so hope there is a 5 (with more connections, sexual tension) The hole Jill thing made no sense to me. I feel like she seemed so innocent and everything, with the other ones we could at least tell the killers were pretty syco but she seemed like a victim, complaining and such and then BAM out of no where shes killing her ex and freaking out and going crazy. I am a self taught knitter for about 5 years now and since I don't have a yarn store in my town my experience with different yarns is limited. When it comes to knitting needles it all comes down to personal preference. I absolutely love bamboo knitting needles! I like all sizes and lengths. The size needles I use the most are 5.0mm, 5.5mm, 6.0mm, 6.5mm, and a set of very large size 17 needles. In my town (@ Wal-Mart) we only have 100% cotton yarn, Red Heart Acrylic, and Simply Caron. I bought some of the cheap yarn Michaels sells (can't remember the name of it) once and some Deborah Norvill yarn. The problem I had as a beginning knitter was thread splitting. Caron yarn is several small strands twisted into yarn. I could not us it at first but I do love it now after some practice. I think the best yarn for a beginner to use is the cheap kind at Michaels it sort of has a generic label. It does not split at all and is easy to work with and comes in lots of colors. It is acrylic yarn so you don't have to worry with it as much as Wool. The regular Red Heart yarn is rough but it would do to practice. I did like the Deborah Norville yarn also. I really want to try some cashmere yarn. As far as what needle to use with which yarn, the yarn wrapper will tell you what size needle to use for that particular yarn. Circular needles are a must in your knitting kit. Circulars allow you to make things larger than 14 inches. As I grow as a knitter I am beginning to use more metal because I have more control of the needles where as before the stitches kept slipping off. I am really eying some of the ebony knitting needles which are expensive but so very pretty. My advice is buy common size needles and just decide for yourself.

I am learning how to knit?

Often crochet is done with smaller yarn or thread. Knitting can be done on very large needles using larger yarn. I do both as well. There are uses for both so it's nice to know both. The stitches are not alike so doing an afghan in both crochet and knit will have very different looking results. Either would be very lovely - just depends on the look you are going for. It's nice to know both - so if one becomes a little boring you can switch to the other. Knowing one before the other gives you an idea of threads and yarns and things required. Hope you enjoy knitting.

World War Z by Mel Brooks: abridgment vs. unabridged version?

I have to write a paper on World War Z by Mel Brooks due next week. I haven't read it yet, but I do have the audio-book which is abridged (there is no other version that I am aware of). I was wondering if anyone knew both versions. My plan is to listen to the book to get an idea of where certain stories are so I can reference them as I write my paper, but if I am missing half the story, it won't be all that helpful. Knitting pattern-Twisted head wrap. Help?

Looking at the pictures, these seem to be nothing more than shortened scarves that were folded over & twisted before the ends were joined. Figure out how long the scarf needs to be to go around your head & make it an inch shorter so it will stretch & stay on. Figure out how wide you want the wrap to be & make it double that width, fold it over & sew it the sides together. Before you sew the ends together, twist it, No need for a pattern, just do a few measurements & cast on.

If a customer asks for a return on an item, do i have to pay for the both shippings?

I sold an used item as a no returns sale but the item he recieved was broken, the last time I used the item it was working fine, so I didn't know it was broken and assumed it was working fine. It looks like it will open a not as description case no matter what, but he wants me to pay for both shipping, the one that shipped to him and the one to get it back to me. My children are spaced by 4 years and 5 years so i am probably biased but I think that children with siblings who are close in age do miss out on some attention but then they do have a ready made playmate so there are compensations. As a mother though I think that a bigger gap between siblings makes the whole experience easier and more enjoyable. Remember that breastfeeding acts as a bit of a contraceptive. so, I have been on summer vacation for about 2 weeks and so far to tellp you the truth the weather has been extremely crappy! There has been like 2 warm days and the rest has either been rainy or just grey. Not to mention our local pool has really short hours and does not even open on grey, but warm days, when you could still go swimming. I am 14 so, I can't drive and my mom works a lot so on most days I can't like go to a water park, a MLB baseball game, the gym etc. I am not really interested in stuff like knitting, board games, (I already watch way to much tv band play on the computer too much), I like photography and crafts but they get boring after awhile, so I am looking for more exciting and fulfilling activities. I kind of think making like miniature furniture or stuffed animals or clothing would be fun but it never seems to work out. If you could provide links or sewing patterns along with other activities that would be cool! Also if anyone knows what Disney Duffy and Shellie may is I think it would be cool to make clothing or something which my seem kind of lame but whatever :D! One of my friends is trying way to hard to be cool, and treats me differently now. What can i do?

Basically i am friends with this person who, until i became friends with them, was a follower their whole life. I was nice enough to give them a chance, so at least they aren't as quiet as before. But because this person was a follower and still is today, they'll do anything to fit in with a certain group of people. Because this group they want to be a part of is close knit, i guess my friend feels left out, as they might talk to him differently than they talk to eachother. But now my friend wants to be cool, and treats me the same way they treat him, by acting like i'm on a lower level than him, or are not apart of "his" group. He achieves this by making sure that he is at any social event i am at, and that he is at ones that i am not, purely so he can say that he was there. I've even started experimenting. For example, If i make a comment on his facebook, he won't comment back or like it, but go out of his way to comment on other people's statuses to show that he doesn't care. I don't know what to do. He pisses me off so much sometimes, but then acts like the nicest person in front of everyone. He overthinks every action he does strategically to look cool. I'm starting to think he is either a psycopath or has really low self confidence. Should i just stop talking to him?

I hate my cousin-in-law with a passion...any advice?

My super-sweet older cousin married this asshole about 6 or 7 years ago. My cousin and I are very close, therefore, we see one another quite regularly. However, now when she's around, he's there too. Yet she still married him, and now they have a 7-month-old baby. Obviously I am very excited about the baby, but to my dismay, this also means that he is now definitely around for the long haul. Sometimes I can't believe how incredibly unlikable he is, and I am equally as disturbed by how no one else in my tight-knit family seems to have the gaul to say or do anything about his behaviour. I am completely sick and tired of him and his high-horse attitude, but I don't want to say anything to him because I know that it would totally stress my cousin out, and put a serious strain on our relationship.
