Will I be able to maintain this friendship if I continue to feel envy towards her?

I'm a single mom and she's happily married, living the American dream I guess. I feel as though I can never compete with her because she's skilled in everything (she knits, cooks, bakes, hosts big parties, teaches an instrument, etc., etc.). Also, she's very materialistic and spends a lot on things. I'm on the other had more frugal. For example, her kids' b-day party cost over $200, while mine next to nothing. They live in a house with a huge yard and garden, we live in an apartment. Will this relationship work if I keep feeling like this? Please, no rude comments.
