I need help coming out?

Ok so monday i am spending the whole day with my mother in chicago and I think I might come out to her but I don't know how to do or even how to bring it up. I come from a very lose knit family we are all very close and love each other very much, only a lot of the family is also homophobic I am just afraid that our relationship will be strained.
