Help with an analysis on The Count of Monte Cristo (abridged version)?

I have to right a 14 paragraph analysis on the book and I'm beyond confused. My teacher gave us a plot structure outline, but I'm still utterly confused. Can anyone explain to me why Dantes was imprisoned, how he gets revenge on the men who framed him, and how the story ends? Those are the parts I do not get. Who ever can be of best help will get 10 points for best answer!!!
