Knitting or crocheting?

This choice is a personal preference but I find that it easier and quicker for people to learn to crochet than to knit. Although I do both I prefer to knit because there is so much more you can do with knitting. However crochet is definitely quicker and it is easier to undo and pick up if you make a mistake. My advice would be to learn to crochet first as you will be able to produce some lovely scarves quickly and this will give you confidence. Learn to knit when you feel you have done as much as you can with crochet - which might never happen.
